With a cheerful look, we look back on the Bollenstreek Bloemencorso flower parade. It was an honor to have the opportunity to participate in this special event with the Cooperatieve Rabobank and the Stichting Vrienden Bloemencorso Bollenstreek.
This Flower Parade is an annual event in the flower bulb area of the Netherlands. About 1 million people gathered along the 42 kilometers long route, from Noordwijk to Haarlem to see the parade.
The days before the flower parade all the floats and cars were brought together to be decorated. Not only were we impressed by the colorful floats but also by all the enthusiastic people dedicating their time and effort to decorate the floats and cars with flowers. For two days straight, hundreds of volunteers worked hard to prepare the floats for the Flower Parade. This tradition has been going on since 1947.
Among all the other beautifully decorated floats and the colorful bulb fields, our electric roadster was a real eyecatcher. We hoped for good weather to drive without a roof. Usually the flower pieces are secured on top of the roof, but we had to create a special frame to attach the flowers to. This enabled Marinca from Mar-Fiore and her team to make a stunning flower piece, running from the front to the back, complimenting the elegant lines of the TC2. The result was even more beautiful than we expected!
Despite the wind and rain in the afternoon, there were still a lot of people along the route, and we were delighted by their reactions. The smiles from the people in the villages gave us an unforgettable warm welcome. Spectators cheered us on with joy and calling the TC2 the “coolest car of the parade!”.
Locals and visitors were enjoying the parade and the festivities, creating a strong sense of community. This feeling is special to us and aligns with our identity. With the TC2, we aim to take you back to the aesthetics of the past while embracing the technology of the present. This electric car brings you back to the essence of driving, allowing you to feel the road perfectly through the direct feedback of the suspension, just like it used to be.
